One of our services in SABE is to attend crisis intervention to our elder community. This couple had problems finding a builder that never finish the construction of their house. They were living in horrible conditions with no electricity and no water service, receiving the electricity from a neighbor. The couple visited us in Mayagüez, and told us their story. We immediately reported the case to the police. And finally the person was found and paid the amount of money he took. As a recommendation, the couple bought a house that didn’t need fixing. Different organizations such as Endeavor, Cabo Rojo municipality office, Egida Elderly, The Red Cross, Altrusa Club, and the Club de Leones of Cabo Rojo, collaborated in the painting, furnishing, and equipment to move with confidence through the house. Lastly, SABE searched to provide the couple of a housekeeper and with the Departamento de la Familia the service was provided. Right now they are happy in their new home.
