SABE

SABE was developed to guarantee, through a multidisciplinary model, the emotional and physical well-being of people over the age of sixty who are victims of violence, and thus promote the enjoyment of a better quality of life. This project is funded by the Department of Justice under the program of Victims of Crime Assistance.

AREAS OF IMPACT

The project has received over 90 participants in Mayagüez and Orocovis where the service given in the centers have been related to: negligence, financial exploitation, emotional abuse, self-neglect, restriction of rights, family violence, isolation, lack of support, networks, and vigilance around fraud with healthcare plans. Also, the participants are offered with transportation services to hospitals, courts, or government agencies.

The gallery presents moments of joy, learning and integration of motor activities, such as planting, completing puzzles, among other activities that help our older adults.
